omg I can't believe I can spend so long colouring Neopets lineart ahaha )

Today was second day of our Cue Sports sabbat! It was made of pure, unadulterated awesome and pwnageness, partly because we got to whack balls around for free (!!!) for nearly 5 hours (!!!), so much that my right arm actually feels quite tired from having to hold that position, and also because of all the fun Sparkies around :D (and Vin's random cheehonging). It was really helpful in improving our game too, and remember, all you need to do is to follow the mantra! SPEED, STILLNESS, FOLLOW THROUGH, and you're all set to go with a smooth, consistent delivery. I now feel very tempted to go for Wednesday free coaching sessions :D

Also, I happened to chance by a very memorable Juno quote.

Juno MacGuff: I'm pregnant.
Paulie Bleeker: What should we do?
Juno MacGuff: Well, I should just... I was thinking I'd just nip it in the bud before it gets worse. Because they were talking about in health class how pregnancy... It can often lead to an infant.
Paulie Bleeker: Typically, yeah... Yeah that's what happens when our mothers and teachers get pregnant.

Am gone for 1 1/2 weeks for a brief moment of respite! Nonetheless I feel somewhat ambivalent at having to forsake many many commitments (choir, GRAZ, PW group, Econs, BROCK TEST) =(

Hopefully when I come back I will be better able to deal with the challenges of tomorrow! Also we must meet up one day and chill I am Dying Already ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Ok I must go and finish playing Case 3 of Apollo Justice now if not I will die from the suspense =3

I am getting old! This is dreadful, because the imminent doom that is 2 years of national service only looms nearer and nearer.

In the meantime I have just spent my very special day staying at home and mugging and making up for all the lost days in which I have not studied for Physics or Chem O :(

Still it is nice to know that in 365 1/4 days I can have even "more choices" to choose from in the cinema! With that, I shall go to sleep and pray fervently I shall be able to survive my Physics test tomorrow (:

It has been a tiring holiday week! Amidst going to school every single day for various stuff/CIP/pointless Founders' Day Rehearsals, and feeling extremely apprehensive/excited/joyous/nerve-wrecked/elated/down/all-sorts-of-things-imaginable over choir performance, it is indeed possible to find much joy from the things that you do :)

A. List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
B. Tag seven people to do the same.
C. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it."

A.

1) I am an O2Jam Addict! Since April 2004 (I have revisited my GS Aficionado chronicles to find out) I have been immersed in the wonderful world of Rhythm Games and have not stopped since. There is so much joy to be derived from FC-ing 30 songs and showing off to random people at the class benches :P

2) I have a complete collection of Pokémon Adventures 1 - 26 (and still counting). This was amassed within a time frame of 4 years, I picked up the first volume in Popular one day and have been hooked since :P

3) I really like Pokémon! (if you couldn't tell) There is something so satisfying about watching your little critters grow from cute little turtles and Sun Wukongs to large monstrous beings. Pokémon Diamond is like, the best DS game ever =D

4) I am currently addicted to Tao Kae Noi (those packets of expensive Japanese crispy seaweed) and cannot survive a week without at least a large dosage of Tom Yum Goodness

5) I love singing a lot, but I feel really quite inadequate esp in Choir when faced with so much more experienced and skilled people.

6) I buy so many things on impulse it's not even funny =(

7) F.I.R. currently rocks my world ;)

B.
No one, because you shouldn't owe anyone anything over CNY :P

C.
Uhh, right.

And on a very happy note, HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR! MAY ALL YOUR HONGBAOS BE STUFFED WITH LOTS AND LOTS OF MONEY =D

With this I break my god knows how long hiatus on LJ! The first week of JC life has passed, and it's been pretty eventful so far. What with Faculty Dances to learn now and then, along with ^*&#@ choir sessions (where I cannot warmup properly due to a pathetically sad vocal range), and little piles of tutorials done in 5 hour long breaks in the library, well, I can't quite say there isn't much to do.

Other than the fact that my stupid angel hasn't taken the time to write anything to me (or maybe I don't have one), I suppose it's been a nice start to the academic year! Only more time will tell whether I can survive the inane Physics lectures, or perhaps trying to sing Burung Kakatua properly will kill me first.

Sorry to 4N people, but ...

Haha, today has been one fun day! Well, ever since that horrific OM loomed and passed (thankfully), I can say this has been a great occasion to wind down and destress XD .

Anyway! We (Linus, Jeremy, Ashton, me) all went to Space after school at 2.10pm to retrieve our (badly drawn) flag and touch it up abit, which ultimately culminated in a large patch of red paint on the cupboard which we haven't cleaned yet ._. .

Never mind, it makes for a good horror scenario haha ...

*Enters room. A multilated, deflated Fluffy doused in crimson blood lies stone cold on the floor. More evidence of carnage appear as streaks of red scattered all over ...*

Anyway, we gathered outside the College General Office for a good 20 minutes before they started ... we were grouped into 4 teams each, ours containing a JC1 team and 2 other Sec 4 ones ... so apparently we were just to follow the group leader and solve tasks at various stations, with a maximum of 50 points per station ._.

A brief recap!

Station 1
First task was to find the exact value of phi using the picture of some shell to calculate x) Anyway we tried lots of stuff but couldn't get anything in the end ... the other 2 tasks were to plot the golden spiral and a 6-petaled flower on a GC, using polar coordinates and other stuff x) We cheated and made a different flower by using something like 3sin(3x) and then -3sin(3x), but it was still 6-petaled (and way nicer than the example) so we got 20 points!

We were one of the 2 groups that got anything ...

Station 2
Lol lame task ahead! 20 cards lie face down on the ground, denoting each of the 20 first digits of pi. Task is to open them up in consecutive order ... well it wasn't too bad, a mix up in who to memorise which row caused us to restart at the "7", but anyway we got 2nd so 57 points (7 point time bonus) =D

Station 3
This one was horrific x) 3 tasks, but have to complete (correctly) before advancing. So all the teams were stuck on the first task for god knows how long ... the question was about using tennis balls to stack up a pyramid and finding out how many balls a 100-ball pyramid needed ... it wasn't actually that hard (in retrospect) but we came out with weird answers like (2n+1)(n-1) ... until we gave up and Ashton manually typed in 100^2 + 98^2 + 96^2 + ... 2^2 in the GC.

._.

Station 4
Station 4 was the best! Involved 4 questions (all of which were pretty easy, MCQ) and you have to get the correct answer before moving on to the next question. Wrong answer and 1 team member gets eliminated ... but anyway we got first so 60 points!

Station 5
The more hands-on one ... had to solve a couple of tangrams (form a square, form a (really fat and short 'T'), rearrange letters to form Pierre de Fermat (or Mr Pipe de Fart), and find out as many ways to cut a shape so that 2 pieces form a rectangle as possible. Apparently this was the killer station and most people didn't get to the last problem ...

Station 6
Ok the really dumb station x) We are in the college basketball court. The question is to find out the probability of a raindrop dropping into one of the 8 hoops, if it rains within the basketball court.

...
...
...

... So we trekked round the entire court, using mine and Linus's foot as feets (har har) and walked around to find the whole area of the stupid court, then measure the radius of the hoop and consequently come out with really dumb answers ...

After that it all ended! We managed to get highest in our group (=D) and apparently top for Station 3 (considering it was full marks -_-) but there are like 5 other groups so dunno if we'll win anything! Haha, it was all in the name of good fun anyway, and I also had a very enjoyable time sniggering at all the nubbies practising their Taekwondo white belt patterns x).

PS. Can anyone log into the EMB? I seem to have been mysteriously locked out.

I have just realised that I am horribly afraid of failing.

They always tell you 失败是成功之母 and what not, but sometimes I think it's really quite hard to grasp the essence of it, given our own experiences as students in this hideously pragmatic era. After all, we're all so attuned to the notion of winning competitions, scoring aces in tests, perpetually being outstanding in everything you do ... (or maybe it's just me trying to do so, haha) Nonetheless, I will keep in mind that this is quite possibly one of the most minor setbacks that anyone can probably face, so it's not too bad, really XD . Thanks YQ for offering to help and all :p

Well on to the happier news, for one I have just turned SIXTEEN ZOMGBBQHAX!!!shift+11oneone!! (: I NOW HAVE "MORE MOVIE CHOICES TO ENJOY" HAHAHA pwn you all!!

My birthday wish this year is to get a 1.00 MSG, and for everyone around me to stay strong and healthy. Oh, and a Wii would be nice too ;)

IMCB is pretty fun! It's just like SMP last year, except lower on the technical aspect and you get to mess around abit more. A more notable happening would be dissecting a mouse (yes, it is gory) and taking out the spleen and left and right kidneys and thymus (this puny little white thing above the heart) and liver (rats are fat) and weighing them and stuff; we played with the micropipettes and stained blood cells - all pretty standard lab stuff, I suppose =x But on the other hand this leaves me severely drained of any time to do any work whatsoever -_-

I miss the days when I could leisurely stay back in class and drink coffee and have self-study sessions with Guan Yu and the rest, or the times when we could all joke around and go around Weekying in the Com Lab (and not doing our C++), or just randomly decide to go and watch a movie after school ...

still, some good things remain ... )

I have finally finished reading 14 volumes of Tsubasa Chronicles! (yes, yes, took me a month ... -_-) Now I can start on the anime, haha. It's quite nice, although the characters look really lanky and have super awkward arm positions ._.

Leadership Sabbatical was quite an eye opener. It wasn't particularly fun or anything, but I thought that much of it was extremely insightful (eg. Trip to IDF, Embassy) and the 2 ACE points (Giam is so stingy compared to us) were an added bonus ._.

MSG was ok; I think alot of people weren't up to their usual standard? Whatever, it doesn't change anything anyway.

I will just put my holiday schedule here for the sake of remembering.

Sunday: OM Storyboard,SMPF
Monday: 9am Chinese lesson, Afternoon Mentorlink

These have been arduous weeks; amidst yodelling Bouken Desho Desho? in class (Breakfast FTW!) and repeated viewings of Hare Hare Yukai, it's purely been work, work and more work.

Though academics are indeed managing fine (urgh, Chinese test tomorrow ... ), and that's the only thing to be gratified about so far, now I don't have time to watch any of the 52 episodes of Tsubasa Chronicles that I painstakingly downloaded from Anime-Eden, nor finish the Baby Blues compedium that I got ages ago! How sad is that.

Right, and now I apparently can't bid for any sabbaticals because I have been prebooked for something! I can't remember whether I had indicated interest when the Chemistry Is Everywhere EMB was posted, but I still vaguely annoyed that I can't use any of the 2k+++ (not that I know exactly how much, have never bidded before -_-) points that I've accumulated, and I can't even check what is it that I've been enrolled to! Later it turns out to be one of Leefy's cotrainer courses, then I really die liao. I have an idea who the creater of this "OBS" thingumajig is ...

Todo list:
1. Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi 14 Episodes
2. Bouken Desho Desho
3. Tsubasa Chronicles 52 episodes
4. Tsubasa Chronicles 13 volumes of manga
5. Go Kino someday and buy Cosmos
6. Other assorted work
